Dear EMS, Fire and/or Law
Enforcement Personnel:
Thank you for your interest in
the OSF Saint Francis Medical Center Life Flight’s Ride-Along
program. We are excited to offer you the opportunity to learn
more about aeromedical and ground transport and our team.
To ride with the Life Flight
program, you must be actively involved in EMS, Fire or Law
Enforcement. Candidates must complete a Ride-Along Safety
In-service Class
at the OSF Aviation Hangar in Peoria, Illinois. We are offering
this class every 90 days to get as many eligible participants as
possible a chance to observe the unpredictable world of aeromedical transport.
The next Ride-Along class dates are:
Friday, July 11, 6pm - 9pm
Friday, September 26, 6pm -9pm

Objectives
Please note all Ride-Along
candidates must be in good physical condition and able to walk
distances unassisted. Also, due to aircraft weight restrictions,
Ride-Along candidates must weigh no more than 220 pounds.
Each candidate will be weighed on the date of the ride-along
shift.
After completing the above forms,
contact us for further instructions and to register for your
Ride-Along Safety In-service Class. During the Ride-Along Safety
In-service Class, you will be scheduled for your Ride-Along
shift. Due to the unpredictability of our call volume, we cannot
guarantee specific types of flights for your experience but will
make every attempt to fulfill all your requested objectives. In
the event that no flights are dispatched on your scheduled day,
you will be rescheduled for another observation day at the
earliest opening on our schedule.
To visit the OSF Aviation Hangar:
Take I-474 towards the Greater Peoria Regional Airport. Take the
Airport Road Exit (Exit 5). Follow the signs towards the
airport, onto Dirksen Parkway. Johanson Road is the first left.
Turn onto Johanson Road, and the OSF Aviation Hangar is the
third building on the left. There is an “OSF Aviation, LLC” sign
in the yard.
